Hi Clara, Sorry for not writing you since last week, but I’ve been in England these days. Do you remember Javi, my uncle, who lived in London? Well, he invited my cousin form Bilbao and me to spend some days. I left Barcelona last Friday, and I’ve come back this morning, so I’m a bit tired. England was great, I had already been in London, but this time I have also visited Manchester, and I went to the Football Museum! I spent two days there in Manchester and then I went back to London, where I visited for my third time the London Eye and all those typical things. The funniest experience there was that a waiter tried to flirt with me in a restaurant while I was eating Fish and Chips! I would like to go with you to London, what do you think? Write soon! Aitor

Hi Sara, How’re you? How’s it going? I hope you and your family are fine… As I told you one month ago, this last week I went to Ibiza with my family and we’ve enjoyed it a lot. We’d visited different places around the fantastic island, and we’d passed a very good time together. We also had gone to a big variety of beaches because there, most of the beaches and coves are natural and impressive. On Monday, we run into Nil and his parents and we spent the whole day with them, we visited Ibiza’s Capital and then, in order to see the sunset, we went to Cala Blanca and we chilled out there. After the setting we decided to go to our hotel, which is located near Santa Eulàlia, and we had dinner there. When we were coming back to the room, Nil and I saw a yacht that was anchored near the coast, so we swam till it and we realised that was Messi’s family. We tried to convince him to climb abroad but he didn’t let us, and we returned to the hotel. What about your holidays? Where’re...

INFORMAL EMAIL - Mario Calvo

Hi Victor, How is everything going? It has been ages since the last time we met. Right now, I was thinking of the time we visited Paris once. Do you know what? I was there with my family some weeks ago. It was nice to be at the same places we had visited before. We spent three days there, and we made the most of our time, for sure. The first day, as we got off the plane, we went directly to the Tour Eiffel. Although we couldn’t go to the top of it, we climbed to the first floor, and the view was already incredible. Later, the next days, we went shopping round the city and visiting some other important sights. Anyway, I thought we could go again in one of our big trips, we’ve had such good times. Call me if you like the idea! Write soon, Mario

DISCUSSION EASSY- ALBERT GALLARDO

Nowadays it is necessary to speak more than one language, but being multilingual can have some disadvantage? On the one hand, the world has been dominated by languages. This fact means that people who have mastered more than one language can find work more easily. Other advantage is you can travel with more tranquility since you have more languages to communicate with the rest of the people. The advantage of dominate more of one language is the relation with people of others countries, because if you are in your country but you are asked by a tourist about some street and he speaks to you in his language and you dominate these language, you can help the tourist more easily. For example, English tourists can not be helped by me because of my bad English. On the other hand, this fact have some disadvantages, but few. When you dominate more than one language, you can get involved when talking and mixing words from different languages or when you are writting yo...

Discussion essay - Mario Calvo

Nowadays, most people know how to speak different languages, but, is this something positive or does it have some bad consequences? On the one hand, being bilingual has some positive points. As an example, it is a positive point if you are looking for a job or when you are travelling abroad. In those cases, being able to speak different languages is essential. On the other hand, managing to talk two languages can cause some confusion, which can turn a normal situation into an embarrassing one. Furthermore, this can also penalize you while doing an exam, as you can confuse some words among two similar languages. From my point of view, bilingual people, have   several more opportunities, and better ones, in our society and have more ability to communicate with people from different nacionalities. Dialogue - Albert Gallardo

James and  Selena, two teachers, they’re in the cafeteria of the schoolare discussing the rights and wrongs of information and  Communication technology(ICT) as a school subject. They’re in the cafeteria of the school. James: What did you think of the meeting from this morning? Selena: Entertaining, there were many topics to talk today. James: It’s true. What do you think about the technology in class? Selena:  That topic has been discussed, I think that this topic have a good part and bad part. The good part is that the  students can search their doubts but they can be distracted with the social networks. James: you’re right, but we can block those pages that distract them. I think that if the students use always the technology,  in the future they will not know how to make a handwritten text in conditions, also, I think that with the social networks they  always depends of Google and they they will not know how to find things for themselves....
